photo experimentation (and ciabatta)

So for my digital photography class, our assignment is to make a Hockney-inspired collage.  This is my experimentation with Photoshop:

Interesting, yes?  You know what is also interesting?  Bread recipes that don’t tell you when to add the flour and what don’t rise nearly enough.  Bah.

The Many Faces of Shannon

Hello blog-land!  We here at the Sherwood household have been busy these past weeks performing The Sound of Music with a local youth theater company.  Throughout the course of each evening I dressed myself in four different costumes and danced upon a stage of…stagelyness.  (I just sort of ramble without thinking of what’s coming next; [...]

Photo Hike.

Dad and I went on a photo hike a couple weeks ago.

It was supposed to be landscape photography, but I don’t do so well in that department.  (Plus, the lighting was bad.)

And this.

I just love barbed-wire fences.  I don’t know why.  They make me feel happy and grungy [...]

Halloween costumes are on their way

I spent about 5 minutes yesterday deciding what to be for Halloween, and I spent 30 minutes this morning putting together the costume.  Still need to add one thing, and a few props, to finish the look.  Yeah, the Scout Finch thing didn’t work out.  I picked a character I actually have the costume for!  [...]

5 People You Meet in Disneyland

We went to Disneyland early today for the CHOC Walk in the Park. It’s a 5k through Disneyland and California Adventure to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Orange County.  It was a very overcast day in downtown Anaheim and my pictures aren’t that great; I have as yet to learn the secrets of [...]

The Top 100

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books printed. I figure I might give it a try.
The Rules:
1) Look at the list and put one * by those you have read.
2) Put a % by those you intend to read.
3) Put two ** by the [...]
