Summer is in the air. . .and the theaters. . .

Do you know why I love summer?

It’s not because of the weather.

It’s not the free time.

It’s. . .

The movies!

Do you want to see my summer movie list?  It’s very fun.

Son of Rambow: a limited release British indie film – look it up on Fandango to see if it’s playing in your area.  Two schoolboys set out to make the sequel to First Blood. (May 9)

EDITING:  I went to see Son of Rambow soon after posting.  It was pretty much amazing.  It wasn’t as lighthearted as the trailer seems to make it, but I kind of liked that there was more to the plot than just them making the movie.

Prince Caspian: being the second installment in the Narnia book series by C.S. Lewis.  The Pevensie children travel back to Narnia to find it overrun with Telmarines.  Great book, and I’ve been looking forward to this movie since the last one was in theaters. (I’m going to marry Prince Caspian.  Btw.)  (May 16)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: because Harrison Ford can pull off an action hero at 65, that’s why.  And come on!  It’s Indiana Jones for crying out loud!  (May 22)

Speed Racer: Japanese cartoon turned into live-action sci-fi Nascar drama.  it looks cool, I suppose.  And the Geico commercial is hilarious. (May 9)

Iron Man: a superhero movie.  I like superhero movies. (May 2) Speaking of which. . .

The Dark Knight: the sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins. Bruce Wayne/Batman returns for fun with the Joker, while dealing with Harvey Dent.  This is the first Batman movie not to have “Batman” in the title.  (July 18 )

I haven’t actually seen any of these movies, so I’m not so sure.  But I tend to have good taste in movies.  *coughcough*  So you can trust meeeee!
